Nelson Cathedral Goes to The Dogs
Many visitors to Nelson Cathedral are surprised when they are advised that they can look
around inside the cathedral with their dogs in tow. With the Dean, some clergy and several staff members all owning dogs, there are always one or two at the Cathedral as well as sitting quietly at staff meetings.
This love of animals culminates on the 29th September with the Cathedral’s 10am Pet Blessing Service to which all are welcome to attend the inside service with any animals they own. Previously that has included Kuni piglets, goats, new born lambs, lizards, a pony and of course, lots of dogs.
